County Executive Anthony H. Griffin is getting a 4.5% pay raise, bringing his base salary to $213,960. Fairfax School Superintendent Jack D. Dale remains the county's highest paid official, with an annual salary of $237,000. County Supervisors, however, only get $59,000, based on the antiquated rural notion that this is a part-time job. Whatever you think of the job the Supervisors are doing, it is a full-time job and should be paid as such. Paying the Supervisors for the value of their work to the County would also draw more candidates for election to these important positions.
